Trouble Installing Office 2003 SP3

I have a 3 week old computer running Windows Vista. I installed Office
Professional from my discs and then and I downloaded MS Office Professional
Service Pack 3.

However, when I try to install it I get a window saying "The Update Cannot
be Applied".

Why am I having this problem and how do I complete the installation of
Office SP3?

Alisdan,

When you double-click on the Office 2003 SP3 installation package and you
allow the package to install on Vista a log file in your temp directory
should be created that may give us a clue as to what may be going on. Can
you please check your temp folder to see if a Ohotfix folder was created, if
the package ran as expected you should see Ohotfix(0000x).log and
Ohotfix(0000x)_MSI.log in the Ohotfix folder where 'x' is a numeric value
that is incremented.

The _msi log file will be probably be empty. Please send me the
Ohotfix(0000x).log to review the information in the log file. Send the file
to (e-mail address removed).

I have no ohotfix file. I am getting a 80070643 error. Does that help you
find my installation problem?
