trouble installing office

G

gump

after dragging the office folder from the installation disk to my hard
disk it gets part way through the installation then I get this error
message: The operation cannot be completed because some data cannot
be read or written error code -36. I don't think this is a problem
with the disk because I was able to install it previously on my old
computer. I've repaired the priveleges in disk utilities and that
didn't work and I've tried reinstalling it a number of times with the
installer with the same results. I haven't had trouble installing
other programs on my computer and it meets all the requirements of
Microsoft Office. Does anyone know what the problem is? thanks.

Hi

An error -36 appears whenever I don't have permission to do something with a
volume. You should be signed in as an administrator of the computer and
should drag the Office X folder to the Applications folder of your
computer's hard drive (not the administrator's or a user's personal folder).
