Trouble opening excel ss in firefox

Suddenly, when I open up lotus notes in firefox (using Vista), I am unable to
open any spreadsheets that are emailed to me. I get this dialog box, "could
not be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist.
Change the association in your preferences." How do I change preferences?
