trouble opening saved file

I saved word docs on a recordable cd and I can no longer
open some of the docs. When I try to open the doc I get
this message: "The document name or path is not valid
Check the file permissions for the document or drive". I
can open some docs but get a bunch of square characters on
a page. PLEASE ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!!

try sending it to someone who has or try using a computer
with a different office version to yours. i had the same
problem and sent the file to our computer "expert". all he
did was open the file... without any problems just because
he has a different version, at least that was his
explanation. hope this is of help to you as well.
