Trouble Printing Watermarks

We've been having trouble printing watermarks in my office, both in our new
upgrade to Word 2003 and our previous version. Although all the watermark
printing settings are correct, and the watermark displays correctly in print
preview, when we print, each page of the doc only prints alternating letters
of the word in the watermark. So if the watermark is DRAFT, page one might
show D space A space T, and page two would show space R space F space. This
is driving us crazy! Can anyone help?

In the Format | Background | Printed Watermark dialog, clear the check box
for "Semitransparent."
