trouble saving a dowloaded template

I want to download a template from Microsoft and use it in an existing
presentation. TEmplate help states that after I download it, I should quit
and restart PowerPoint and then open the presentation. The new design
template will appear in the Slide Design task pane, however this does not
happen. The template is not there. Any suggestions?

Hi - I have PowerPoint 2003. I thought you could download all of the
templates that have that option? I'm so confused :(
