Trouble saving ppt2008

I am running Office2008 in Leopard, and every time I try to save a powerpoint presentation, I can't open the saved version--I get a message that the file is either corrupted or incompatible w/ powerpoint. The version in the "recent presentations" within the program itself works fine, but I can't save it to another location and have it open. HELP!

I'm also having this problem. It's a real PITA to create and save a presentation and be unable to open it the next day. Unlike the previous poster, it doesn't even open from the "recent presentations".

Right now saving in the new format is not an option for me until it works 100% of the time.
