Trouble sending attachments

I am using Netscape Messenger as a mail client and
whenever I send a word attachment, the people trying to
open it get this attachment:

The document name or path is not valid. Try these
suggestions:
*Check the file permissions of the document or drive.
*Use the File Open dialog box to locate the document.
(C:\Documents and Settings\...\<filename>.doc

*****************************************

I have tried sending the attachments with both my work's
webmail account and an ISP (aol) webmail account and the
attachment's opened fine. Just when sending with Netscape
does it seem to not work.

My question is this, Microsoft said there would be a
hotfix for this but you have to call for it or wait for
the next update/service pack for Office XP.

When is that update/service pack coming out?

If you have graphics etc included in the doc, you might be best to save the
document into a folder & zip it up & then send the zipped up file.
