Trouble sending in outlook 2007

I've been having problems with sending mail. it says it is sending, but
there is nothing in 'outbox'. I have downloaded and run the MDBVU32.EXE and
there is no stuck read receipt - so not sure now what to do!!!
Any ideas please?
