Trouble shooting access 2002

When a user is signed into their workstation access swithboard has only
partial functionality. When I am signed into their workstation acess
switchboard has full functionality( I am the network admin), and when other
users are signed into workstation it works fine(they don't have admin
priviledges on workstation) The user has full permission to the database.
User has admin privildges on workstation. I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling with same results. Workstation is running XP SP2, this had been
working fine until about 10 days ago. No software or hardware has been addded.

Is the database split, with a data file on the network? If so, does the user
have read, write, create, and delete permissions on that share and in the
NTFS permissions for that share? Is the user opening the database from a
shortcut that has switches in the command line, such as for user and
password? If so, are these correct? Is there some spyware on the users
computer that is being loaded only when they log on (i.e. in their Startup
group or the Run key in the HKCU registry key)?

Wayne,
The database is split, with data on the server. User has full permissions to
data. It is the same if user opens front end from desktop shoortcut or from
mdb file. I have run 3 different spyware checkers with nothing showing up.
Virus protection is up to date nothing shows up inn the scan.

What happens if the user logs on to another computer that also has the
database?

Wayne,
It works fine. It is only happening on his workstation when he is logged in

If it only happens on his workstation when he is logged in, not when someone
else is logged in or when he is logged into another workstation and the
shortcut for opening Access and/or the database is correct, then the problem
is probably not Access. You need to check the NTFS permissions of the
directory that Access, Office, and the database file are in. Remember, that
even if the user has Full Permissions assigned, that if the user or a group
that the use belongs to has had permissions explicitly denied, these take
precedence over permissions that allow. You may also want to empty the Temp
folders. In Windows 2000 and newer, each user has their own Temp folder as
well as a common Temp folder. The locations, if you're used to using a
command prompt, are:

%temp%
and
%windir%\temp

You can see them by typing the following at the command prompt
explorer %temp%
and
explorer %windir%\temp

Press Enter after each line.

Also, you may want to try MsConfig and see if there is anything that is
being started at bootup or logon that doesn't appear to belong there, even
if the spyware programs didn't catch it. You can get to MsConfig by going to
Start|Run and typing in msconfig then pressing Ok.
