Trouble Shooting Disk Cleanup Program

This is in reference to my office computer installed with
Windows 2000 Profesional. I am unable to run the Disk
Cleanup program found in Accessories/System Tools. It
will go as far as "Calculating how much free space will be
cleared" but it never gets past that point no matter how
long it is left to run. Any sugestions?
