Trouble Shooting User Security Configurations

My organization uses Windows Authentication for user authentication.
We are testing security settings in Server 2007. In Server 2003 when
I wanted to see what a user was experiencing I could change their user
authentication to Project Server authentication and login to the
server as the user. Project Server Authentication has been replaced
with Forms Authentication in Server 2007. Does anyone know how I can
do the same with Server 2007 user accounts?

Note: We do not utilze WSS we use Sharepoint Portal 2003.

Depending on your corporate security requirements, the easiest path
may be to have a test user account created in Active Directory. Then
you can change a resource's Windows user account to this account in
PWA. Forms authentication is not a simple installation/configuration.

Thanks James,

We thought about that but our IT security folks denied our request.

A guess: filling out the variance paper work for the IT guys will be
easier than setting up forms authentication. One of the challenges of
forms authentication is that there is not a nice interface to add
users. You'll have to get your hands dirty with command lines and/or
SQL scripts.
