Trouble typing 2-page letters with Word 03

Wendy

I have the new MS Office 2003 and work on-line for a
company with Word 2003. For some reason I have trouble
typing a two-page letter - typing from one page to the
next, without having to put in a page break or section
break at the bottom of the page. Otherwise, without the
break, my typing on the second page is not visible. When
I put in the page break, there is my typing at the
beginning of pg 2, so then I just keep typing and finish
my letter. This page break should not be necessary and
I'm trying to find out how I can type a 2-page letter
without it. One problem might be that working online, I
download one blank work page, type letters on it (or more
than one page), then upload the work (so many pages) back
to the customer. It's on these downloaded pages that the
problems happen. Thanks for any help.

Hi Wendy

It sounds like the document you're downloading may be corrupted, either on
the computer you're getting it from, or during the download process. The
document itself may be corrupted, or the template (probably Normal.dot) used
to create it may be corrupted.

Ask the person responsible for that computer to investigate. They can use
the information at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm to fix
it.

Go to Format | Columns and make sure that the number of columns is set to 1.
We've seen a rash of similar problems caused by the number being set to 2,
with the first column set for the margin width (leaving no room for the
second). If that proves to be the problem, and if all new documents exhibit
the same problem, then see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm for instructions on
editing Normal.dot.
