Trouble using OneNote on two Computers

I am having a problem that should be simple to fix but have not been able to
find the solution. I would like to keep my default My Notes folder on my USB
drive, pen drive, thumbdrive whatever want to call it. So I can use at work
and at home. So on my computer at work I changed the default Path to F:\My
NoteBook (Tools, Options, Open & Save to change) everything works fine my
default folder is on my portable drive. So I take it home and go through same
sequence of events to change Path to F:\My NoteBook When I click the ok
button to make the change I get the following error message "You must enter a
valid folder location. The location must be relative to the folder location
F:\My NoteBook"
I am at a loss I never get this message on the work computer I can move the
location anywhere on the work computer. Error always occurs on home computer
no matter where I try to put the folder. Any help would be appreciated.

Is your USB drive the F: drive on your home computer?

Are you using the same version of OneNote in both places?

What operating system do you have on each computer?
