Trouble using Satellite Internet with FrontPage

I had to acquire satellite internet when we moved to Texas to get some
semblence to broadband. I cannot open my website within FrontPage. I have
to use my dial-up to be able to edit. I've tried calling HughesNet but I
can't understand them, and they cannot understand what I'm trying to tell
them. When I try to open my website, FP tells me that it received something
it could not parse, to call my web hosting service. It's not my webhoster,
because I can open my website if I use a dial-up service. Does anybody have
a clue how to fix this problem. It is taking me hours to publish using
dial-up.

Thanks for your input. I went to the broadband newsgroups and found lots of
people that have the same problem but their fixes did not work for me. There
are several people that still have the problem and no clue as to how to fix
it. I will miss my FrontPage, I've been using it for a long time and
purchased many plug-ins for fancy schmancy doo dads ... *sigh* oh well...I
guess I'll just have to learn something new until a fix comes along. Thanks
again for trying!

My solution was to dump Hughes (DirectWay). What city are you close
to? You may have other options.

Hi Andy....I wish...I live 20 miles outside of the largest city that offers
DSL or Cable (Corsicana, Texas - 50 miles south of Dallas). The only
broadband available is satellite. Even the newer satellite companies out
here (the ones where you have to be in reach of their tower) are not close
enough for me. I definitely picked a FINE place to move too...even my cell
phone can't pick up a signal. Am I still in America??? LOL

It's all ranch land out here....my closest neighbors are 33 acres away from
me and so on...so there is not enough "homes" to warrant the expense of
pulling cable or DSL out here yet. Guess I'll have to wait until people
start subdividing so more homes can be built.

Wish I could dump Hughes...I even tried WildBlue before this and o my gawd
what a nightmare! At least with them I got my money back but it took 4
months.

I'm in Johnson county. I know what you are going through. I was elated
to see cable being strung on poles and then disappointed to find it
wasn't digital.

Doing a Google search, I see WISP is available in the Seven Points,
Gun Barrel City, Athens areas.

Some of the electric coops are offering Broadband Over Power Line
(BPL). Hilco electric is one.

In a financial statement, Internet America (Mark Cuban's old company)
says they are looking for acquisitions of WISP providers and are
currently operating out of local offices in Corsicana, Hillsboro and
Stafford. There may be hope!
