Trouble viewing pics in Word 2003

Recently upgraded to Word 2003. When I open a doc with pics in it I usually
can't see them (just a white space) unless I change the zoom % up or down,
regardless of where it was set. Is anyone else experiencing this, and do you
have any suggestions?
