Trouble w/ Charts holding text attributes after editing

T

trice

I hope this will make sense: Whenever I open a chart to edit the data (text),
the text will appear as Arial; after clicking out of edit mode and back onto
the slide, the chart's text will be completely different (show's different
attributes, such as Times, Bold, 18 point font size) -- AND -- it happens on
all slides with charts if I edit them. It's not a problem with autosizing,
scaling.

It seems like the text in CHARTS is a "permanent" style or "default"
setting. I opened a new pres and the same thing happened....I closed ppt and
opened it back up, same thing happened. If I copy and paste a chart from
another presentation, it looks normal until after I edit the data....same
thing.

This is the first time I've encountered a problem like this; could I have
clicked on some setting that caused this? How can I fix it?

I really appreciate any help I can get.....THANK YOU.

Not sure if this will work or not, but try Tools/Options/Edit (in PPT, not
when the chart is activated) and deselect "new charts take on PPT fonts."
