I have Visio Professional 5.0c, Win XP Pro SP-3, and have Visio compatibility
set to Win 2000. I need to receive engineering drawings that have been
created with Visio 2000 but saved in 5.0 format via E-mail, edit them & then
E-mail them back. Then ultimately the party that I E-mail them to E-mails
them to his client who can only receive the files in 5.0 format. I'm unable
to open most of the drawings due to error code 114...file was created with a
newer version...that I should contact Microsoft. I know they're being saved
in 5.0 when I check properties. What can I do to resolve this? Do I need to
upgrade to 2000 Technical or 2002 Professional which are both almost
impossible to find now or is there a fix for my problem? Even if I got my
hands on 2000 Technical, the SP-1 can not longer be downloaded. Would 2002
Professional allow me to receive, open, edit, transmit & save 5.0 files in
5.0 format? Sorry if this may seem a little confusing. I'm not very
computer savy. I would be most appreciative for all the input any of you can
provide on this issue ASAP. Thank You.
