Hello everybody, I hope can help solve this problem, when trying to open a
file excel 2007 in excel 2003 gives me the following error:

this file was created in a newer version of microsoft excel. The file has
been converted to a format you can work with, but the following issues were
encountered. The file has been opened in read-only mode to protect the
original file.

- this workbook uses more rows and/or columns than are supported in this
version of excel. Any data outside 256 (IV) columns by 65,536 rows will not
be opened. Any formula references to data in this region will return #REF!
error.

I try to installing the FileFormatConverter and ConverterPack and still with
the same result.

It may do something or plan will have to install office 2007?

If the issue is being reported accurately by Excel then there is nothing you
can do.
As you might know, Excel 2007 files support up to 1048576 rows and 16384
columns. Excel 2003, on the other hand, is limited to 65536 rows and 256
columns. If your Excel 2007 document exceeds Excel 2003's limitations, it
will be truncated.

The Compatibility pack will alllow opening a 2007 file in 2003 but nothing
you do will give more you than the 256 columns and 65536 rows 2003 is
designed for.

Thanks for following up my question, then the only solution is to migrate to
excel 2007.
