Trouble with "511974.MAINSP3ff.msp" error message...any help?

I change hard drive, did a drive copy, and now get an error message when
trying to unistall Office XP Pro stating it cannot find the file
511974.MAINSp3ff.msp. It's not on my old drive either. I did an upgrade to
Office 2003 Student and Teacher Edition but I still get the error message.
It will not allow any update or uninstall. Thanks for any assistance you can
provide.

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=295823 "You receive the 'This
patch package could not be opened' errror message in Office 2003, in
Office XP, or in Office 2000". Use the cleanup utility to delete the
Windows Installer entry related to Office XP, reboot, and then try to
uninstall Office XP again.

HOW DID YOU KNOW THIS WOULD WORK .
I am completley blown away. If given 10 years I would
have never tried this, more than likely I would have "F-
Disked" my way out of it loseing years of little fixes to
work related programs and macros.
Thanks a ton, I am a beliver of leaving the world a
little better than you found it ... and this you did
