trouble with drop down list

I'm trying to make a simple spreadsheet with a few cells that have
drop down lists that limit entries to four choices. I have tried to
follow the directions perfectly, but I can't get it to work. Sheet 1
is the spreadsheet. Sheet 2 contains the list. I select the
consecutive entries on the list and type "name" into the name box next
to the function field. I go back to sheet 1, select the cell, then
data>validation>list>source>then type "name". The list does not come
up in the field, only the word "name". I'm sure there's a step wrong
in there somehow, but I'm stumped. Can someone help? I can email the
spreadsheet if it would help. Thanks.

Try with the = sign and without the " " and I suggest you use MYname instead

=name

Hi,

And if still don't get it to work, then check to make sure name is really
been defined. The problem with the Name Box is you must rememeber to press
Enter when enter a name, otherwise the name vanishes.
