trouble with Entourage and typing after Leopard upgrade

Since upgrading to Mac OS 10.5, I¹ve experienced a frustrating problem with
Entourage not always recognizing keyboard inputs. I¹ll be typing and
suddenly nothing appears on the screen. It¹s not a delay the words I¹ve
typed don¹t suddenly appear at once a short time later. Entourage just
simply won¹t recognize keyboard inputs. I have to click into another
application or elsewhere in Entourage before coming back and being able to
type my message.

This is happening both with an Apple wireless keyboard and an Apple USB
keyboard. I know that Apple users have experienced some keyboard problems
with Leopard but I¹ve installed the updates that apparently fixed this
issue. Plus, it only happens when in Entourage.

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this, has any suggestions, or if
I¹m simply going nuts. Thanks.

Chris, this sounds like a really old problem with Entourage. Seems it was a
conflict with some application. I would log out and hold Shift key down to
disable any of your startup items. Does it continue to happen?

Have you updated to 10.5.2? Did you use the combo updater for 10.5.2, if not
download the combo and apply it.

Mac OS X 10.5.2 Combo Update

Always restart and Repair Permissions after a major update.

Hi Diane,

Yes, I upgraded to 10.5.2 when it was released. I'll try the safe start with
the startup items off and see if that works. Thanks.
