Trouble with security in Access 2003 DB after computer dies

Long story - but I have an Access 2003 DB that will not let me use any
of the objects. Before the transfer of the files to another computer
when I started Access I got a log in that I just hit enter and then a
password request, which I would enter a password. Now I go right to the
password request and then get "Security Warning". I click open and get
"Don't have permissions to run "Autoexec".

I thought I had all the files in the right places - just copied the
drive and reloaded Office on a new machine. Is there hope? I do have an
older version that is nt setup with this security but it is about a
long year out of data entry. Yes, I make regular backups but I never
knew this security thing would come an bit me.

I know it has somehting to do with Workgroups but where do I go? Can I
work around this? Or is it stuck shut?

Help!!!

Hi Ken, You say you transferred all the files from your old computer. Did
this include the workgroup file (.mdw) that was used to secure the 2003 db
with?

If it did get transferred, then all you need to do is create a desktop
shortcut that points to this secure mdw. The target would look like
"path to msaccess.exe" "path to mdb" /wrkgrp "path to secure mdw"

No, I didn't try this and may need help in specifics since I don't know
about making a short cut this detailed. Here is what I tried but failed
at. Typed exactly as I tried:

"c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\msaccess.exe" "c:\Documents
and Settings\Ken Gehle\My Documents\kengehlephoto.mdb" /wrkgrp
"c:\Documents and Settings\Ken Gehle\My Documents\Security.mdw"

If and when I get in, how do I turn off this security.

Thanks a bunch Joan

I get an error as follows:

"The command line you used to start MS Access contains an option that
MS Access does not recognize"

If I hit OK 3 times I get:

'MS Access cannot find the file 'C;|Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11'

It gives an error that say the "Command Line to start MS Access
contains an option that MS Access does not recongnize".

Oops...the second reply was sent in error. The first gives all the
details except 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11' is what I
meant.

Start by verifying the path to msaccess.exe on your computer. You can use
Start, Search and locate the file msaccess.exe
"c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\msaccess.exe"
"c:\Documents and Settings\Ken Gehle\My Documents\kengehlephoto.mdb"
/wrkgrp "c:\Documents and Settings\Ken Gehle\My
Documents\Security.mdw"

I assume you have a space between each element i.e.
"path"<sp>"path"<sp>/wrkgrp<sp>"path"

Are you also sure that the security.mdw file is the correct one? Do you
have any other mdw files on your computer? Again search for *.mdw

OK...I found the error: I have a " after wrkgrp.

I am in now!!!!

Joan I can't begin to express my "thank you" for your help. You have
saved my rather rough week.

I'm dancing.....
