Trouble With Table Borders in Page Breaks

D

Dave

I have created a table with two columns and multiple rows, and the rows
are set to break across pages. However, I have created a 3 pt. top
border in one column that reappears at the top of the next page when
the row breaks. I want the row to break, but I don't want the border to
repeat itself at the top of the 2nd page. Is there a fix, besides
creating a separate table thats sole purpose is to provide a border?

Thanks for the tip. I actually have Repeat as Header Row unchecked, but
this top border line appears at the top of the next page anyway. Maybe
it's a bug. I guess I'll simply create a separate table just for my
border line.

Hi Dave:

If it isn't what CyberTaz said it was, then it's probably a Table Style.

Look up Table Styles in the Help. They can apply different borders to
various parts of a table.

Try setting it to Table Normal :)

Cheers

Hi John -

My original impression was that the OP was talking about the border being
applied only to the top cell of a column.

After trying to cause the behavior I now think the Op has a Top Border
applied to _all_ cells in the one column. If the last cell on the page
contains more than one line of text it will have the top border, but the
'continuation' of the cell on the next page has a top border also.

My interpretation is that the OP doesn't want the 'continuation' of the cell
from the previous page to be top-bordered since the origin of the cell
already has the border applied to it. I understand his thinking as the
effect is that the same cell of content winds up with 2 top borders.

Can that be controlled through a table style? I would tend to think that any
row falling at the bottom of the page & containing more than one line of
text would have to be 'forced' to the next page to get the effect he is
looking for... Perhaps by just removing the check to allow row to split?
