Trouble with Words TOC

G

gregorvios

I'm trying to customize a TOC for a template I've created in MS Word X
on the Mac. The template is currently two columns. I would like the
TOC to be one column. I want the user to be able to use Words TOC
generation but output in on its own page and in one wide column. Is it
possible? I can't seem to figure it out.

Every time I try it sets the TOC inside the column that the cursur is
in. I would like it to open on its own page and in one column. Any
help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Greg

Hi Greg:

Add two section breaks to your document: one immediately after the cover to
set the margins and headers and footers for the TOC section, in single
column.

One immediately after the TOC, to set the margins and headers and footers
for the body of the document, in two columns.

Columns are a section property. The column layout is controlled by the
section break that FOLLOWS the text. There is a hidden section break at the
far end of the document that controls the body.

Cheers
