troubleshoot loading pictures to web page

Periodically, my pictures refuse to load into a web page in my computer; this
is before attempting to upload. A small red cross in a box, outlined with
lines left and above, appears instead. There seems to be no rhyme or reason
as to when this occurs. I can go back another time, or copy pix to a
different location, or something that I do not know I am doing, and suddenly
all is fine. I am not doing anything different to what I have done scores of
times. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

Then open your web in FrontPage and click Tools > Recalculate hyperlinks.

Steve, thanks very much for the prompt response. Trouble is, I've been
wimping ever since in fear of taking stuff I don't understand from someone I
don't know and maybe putting my website at risk. This probably sounds silly,
bvut I would feel better if I knew what was happening and why rather than
just blindly following the fix. Sorry; don't mrean to be rude or anything,
I'm just very new at all this stuff and don't know the rules and how these
forums work.

Steve is a FrontPage MVP, and his tool has been recommended for many others
many times by many frequenters of this newsgroup. It is completely safe,
and *should* clear up your issues. I use it quite often as a matter of
routine maintenance.

It clears up corruption in FrontPage.

If you choose not to use it, so be it ;-)

downloading things you are not sure about..however this one may very well

Thanks for the encouragment; I went and tried it, but it didn't work - if,
and it's a big if, I did it right, that is. I found that what did work was
simply to copy the pix to a n other folder, whereupon the problem went. Many
thanks, tho', for all the input.
