truncate of name & date conversion into the text

Hi to all newsgroups,

I need to ask your help concerning the following :

1 - Dates
"22/04/66" should be converted to "22nd April,1966"

2 - i have two columns names :
A B
Firstname Lastname
Anne Parker

I want it to merge these two columns into one (1)
column only and should appear as "Parker, Anne" with a
comma "," separator

Can someone give me a helping hand.

Andy,

Thank you for your assistance. I check the address you've
given me but the problem is that i dont know how to apply
it. Its okey if the day does not have 'nd','rd' or 'th'.
just help me convert the date.

ex. 22/04/66 to 22 April, 1966

Thank you once again.

Do we have a compilation of all the queries presented here
by particular topic so that it will be more easy to search
than going thru a page pointer. It will save time for you
& others to locate a particular topic or problem than
answering the same queries again and again. Do you know
any address that have a tutorial more on excel functions
and macros.
