Tried MS support what a waste of time and effort. I have an old excel file,
how do I open this in XP

"XP" meaning what?

Excel XP or Windows XP.

If you have Excel on your computer, Excel XP will open it.

If you do not have Excel on your computer...........

Note:you probably don't need XL2003 so browse to the "previous versions"
section.

Check out Ebay for a deal on Office 97 or 2000. If you go this route, make
