Trying to change resource hours week to week on same task

I'm trying to change the hours for a resource on the same task, because of
the way we allocate resources here. In other words, if I have a task that
will take a resource 20 hours and he's going to work on it over two weeks, I
can put that as fixed duration (10 days) and put the work for 20 hours, and
Project will make that be 10 hours each week. But if I want the resource to
do 15 hours the first week, and 5 hours the next.

Can I do this without entering in two different tasks?

Hello SarahW,

You can edit the work assignment contour in either the Task Usage or
Resource Usage View. As you note, set the task type to fixed
duration. Display the Task Usage view, zoom out to show a weekly view
and change total work in the timescaled portion.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hello SarahW,
Yes. Go to View-Task Usage-Format-Timescale. Set the lower time scale to
weeks.
Go to the first week and enter in 15h and 10h in the second week
