Trying to create a new theme

I am trying to create a new theme for Front Page.

When I use the Customize Theme template, my two issues are with the banner
and buttons.

With the banner, I get the name of the page superimposed on the graphic. How
do I delete this?

With the buttons, I am using a design that I got from the "Insert
Interactive Button function". When I apply the theme, the buttons do not
appear at all.

I can only assume that I am going about it the wrong way - can someone
please point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

To not have text in the banner image, don't apply a nav banner to your page
- just drag the theme banner image you want from the _themes folder onto your page

FP Interactive buttons do not use themes and are not supported in shared borders
- either use your theme nav bar buttons in shared borders
- or use your IB in the page (or with a Dynamic Web Template)
