trying to do something simple, can't figure it out

i need to design a simple folding program for a funeral service; it's
similar to some of the brochures in the project gallery, but very
simple -- a cover, a back cover, and on the other side, a program for
the funeral -- as in the map below:

funeral speaker third speaker

second speaker fourth speaker

music selection prayer, etc.

how can I format something like that? Help!

The whole idea of the Project Gallery templates is to use them as a starting
point for your own. Alter them to suit your needs.
Also do a google search using the words
word brochure template
And look for a free one to alter.

Assuming you want a half-US Letter or half-A4 program: Orient your Page
Setup to landscape. For each double-page spread, create a two-column table
(with no visible borders) and type your text in there.

Just an extension on Clive's suggestion - I sometimes use a *3* column
table, making the middle column narrow to simulate a gutter between the
columns that contain text.

I'm also "stealing" some info from MVP Daiya Mitchell who swears by a
program called CocoaBooklet which may be of interest to you:

To create a booklet like that on the Mac, set your document up normally
in Word and then use Cocoa Booklet to convert it to a booklet. See the
instructions here (the program is free):

Hello,
I was a bit bored at the airpot so I pop in. Another way i use is
PDFcity at www.pdfcity.com
You can imposo your Pf files there for free, but as it is web
application and you send files to process to someone i would not post
there any sensitive data, however i have been using that site for a
while with no problem so far, so I thought ou mightt want to have
look. It s kind of alternative to Cocoabooklet and works for all
platforms as it is web application

imposition now. Then I would do a PDF from that file and let either the
CocoaBooklet or Pdfcity service to do the imposition for you.
