I have a bunch of contacts from ciities that are out of area. I created a
category called 'out of area.' These contacts are also categorized other
ways according to their business type. I wanted to filter out everything
that was categorized out of area but it woudlnt' do it. It only gave me the
option of 'Category' is (exactly). which then gave me a list of all the
cities I didn't want. There's no opposite of that , i.e. 'category' 'is not.'
I then tried to filter out the individual cities by "category' 'does not
contain' but if I put two cities, it registered them both as one, so filtered
out nothing. When I tried to put them each individually, same result.
I could flip it and filter just the cities I want but don't want to do that
because it will lcause me to miss some contacts.
I tested removing some files to Personal folders, then importing them back
in, but in so doing lost the contact notes.
I'm lost in this sea of contacts all dumped into one folder and have no way
to create a new folder to get some of them out of the way, and I don't want
to delete them entirely.
This is a laboirous, non-intuitive, pain-in-the-neck program that does NOT
translate well to real-world use. I hate, hate, hate BCM but don't have the
budget to put into another contact manager right now and need to work with
what I have since my contacts are in it.
Wait - did I say I HATE this program? I hope that Microsoft redoes this.
Their other products are terrific so I'm surprised.
Until then...Help? How do I get these out of the way and not lose these
contacts?
