trying to format for a book

I am trying to create the following formating for my word doc:

I want the first paragraph in a section to NOT be indented, but then all the following paragraphs to BE indented. When I hit the return key, it should indent to a given distance. I can do this on a given page by using PARAGRAPH in the FORMAT menu, but I haven't been able to figure out how to apply that to the whole document.

Any suggestions?

You'd do well to learn the use of Styles - as well as a number of other
features - to manage your formatting & structure in a Word document...
especially for a project such as a book. Otherwise you'll most likely get to
a point where the document may no longer be manageable and possibly not even
usable. If you're serious it's well worth the time to learn to use the tools
properly before you begin to use them. One of the most authoritative sources
is available from the following link free of charge:

Although it hasn't been updated specifically for 2008 most everything works
the same way & the information will put you in a much better position before
you even begin to type the first sentence. There is a good deal of planning
& preparation to do first. Use Clive's notes to enhance your knowledge of
Word and as an introduction to thing you don't yet know you don't know :)

If you have any specific questions along the way don't hesitate to post back
with complete details - the author himself has been known to poke his nose
in here from time to time - Right, Clive?
