trying to import text files that have no extensions

i am using access 2000 and am unable to import text files
that dont have extensions on them

Aceess 2 has no problems with doing it


any suggestion or a patch that anybody knows off

Here are two different approaches.

shows how to change the extensions that Access will accept. The neatest
method is the last, editing the registry (provided you're careful<g>).

includes code that automatically makes a copy of the textfile with a
..txt extension and imports that.
