trying to install office: mac 2008

I have installed lots of computer programs. However, I just got a MacBook
and when I try to install the Office program, I keep being asked for a
password. I have no idea where to learn what this password. I didn't set
any passwords.
I must be missing something. Can someone tell me what to do?
