Trying to make changes as suggested by you folks?

Gail

I see there is a concurrence that I should not worry about each page having a link to itself. I reckon this happened because of the way in which I did my interactive buttons, which if I am following you right is my navigation structure. I didn't use shared borders or the FP Include Page component. However, inquiring minds (such as mine) want to know what it means "When you are on Contact Us page, the link to Contact Us is still active."

I see the extra "empty" space at the bottom of the Home page that should be changed. However, it is really weird. This must have been part of the original site because it appears to be a table and I didn't create any tables during my updating. However, when I click in that table (extra space) it just darkens the table above it. I cannot click in the table. I can't figure out how to delete it. By the way, I am not familiar at all with HTML. However, I guess I could go to "Code" view and delete the table that way, right? Just not sure what I would delete not knowing how to read HTML

If I shouldn't call my homepage home page, what should I call it

Thanks again

S

Steve Easton

Make the title of the home page the name of the web site.

As for the empty space, what happens if in design view if you place the mouse cursor at the very
bottom of the page and then press Backspace??

I pulled up my website and when on the home page it says "Biker Burials Home Page." If I change the title of the home page to the name of the web site then wouldn't it read, "Biker Burials Biker Burials"

Nope, that didn't work. By placing my cursor at the bottom of the page and hitting backspace, it took me to the table above and didn't delete the blank space

Thanks

They mean the title that is between the <title></title> tags in html view.
You can change it by right clicking the page and selecting page properties.

This is what shows on top of the IE toolbar and also what search engines key on.

Can you post the link to the site again. I need to look at the page in Source view to tell you how
to remove the extra space.

Either way is fine as long as it doesn't just say Home page and nothing else.

As for the extra space, in design view right click the blank area on the left below your link
buttons, click Cell Properties and change the height setting to 790.

Just delete the words "Home Page" from the title tag.

The first issue seems pretty petty. I am just going to change all of my pages to read, Biker Burials - Home, Biker Burials - Contact Us, Biker Burials - About Us, etc. and delete the word "page." Simple enough and I will take care of that

Now, on this issue, I did what you said and changed the height setting to 790 in Cell Properties but that did not get rid of the extra space. Any ideas

Thanks

Gail, try removing the table and cell height settings.

Consider naming you pages like:

Welcome - Biker Burials
Contact Us - Biker Burials
About Us - Biker Burials

Now the above is a personal preference, based on when saving a link to my desktop or favorites, I
like to quickly see what page the link points to, also it will help search engines user to decide
which link to click on.

Oh guys, I am almost in tears. I made the changes to my site today and now I completely lost my links. I think what I did was instead of renaming my link from "Package" to "Services" I created a whole new interactive button. Then when I saved the changes it created even more interactive buttons. Not knowing this, I "published" my changes and now if you look at my site, www.bikerburials.com, I have NO links at all. I am trying to work with my host to see if they can revert back to my original site but that didn't sound too promising.

So, I am asking you folks, is there a way to revert back to my site that I published last Friday, May 21? I would really like to just get my site back to May 21. Can I delete all changes I made today

Please help! Darn, I can't believe this. I am now in tears

Gail,

The site is "extremely" slow to load. Seems as though your host may be having some server issues.
Also the navigation is there and works, it's just that the don't show.
Are you sure you had the entire web open and not just the pages.??

Gail, if the host is willing to restore the site, then all you would need to do is open the live

Your host seems to be having server problems at the moment.

I do have a backup on CD of my site. What do I need to do to get the site back to May 21? Isn't
it correct that even if my host could revert the site back to May 21, only the www could see it the
way it should be. I want it from my end to be back to the May 21 site.
Thanks!

| Oh guys, I am almost in tears. I made the changes to my site today and
now I completely lost my links. I think what I did was instead of renaming
my link from "Package" to "Services" I created a whole new interactive
button. Then when I saved the changes it created even more interactive
buttons. Not knowing this, I "published" my changes and now if you look at
my site, www.bikerburials.com, I have NO links at all. I am trying to work
with my host to see if they can revert back to my original site but that
didn't sound too promising.
|
| So, I am asking you folks, is there a way to revert back to my site that I
published last Friday, May 21? I would really like to just get my site back
to May 21. Can I delete all changes I made today?
|
| Please help! Darn, I can't believe this. I am now in tears.

| Gail, try removing the table and cell height settings.
|
| Consider naming you pages like:
|
| Welcome - Biker Burials
| Contact Us - Biker Burials
| About Us - Biker Burials
|
| Now the above is a personal preference, based on when saving a link
to my desktop or favorites, I
| like to quickly see what page the link points to, also it will help
search engines user to decide

Yes, I did File Menu, Open Site, File Menu, Publish Site. I just can't believe that the interactive buttons aren't showing up. Is this something I need to work out with my host?

If I deleted the original interactive buttons and created new ones, that shouldn't be a problem, right?

Thanks.

Gail,

The site is "extremely" slow to load. Seems as though your host may be having some server issues.
Also the navigation is there and works, it's just that the don't show.
Are you sure you had the entire web open and not just the pages.??

If you deleted them, saved the page and then recreated them and saved again it shouldn't be a
problem

See my post to your other thread explaining how to fix your Interactive Buttons
Re: "To All, From Gail.....Thanks For Everything!"

As for your pages having "spaces" at the end
- it's because you have set table and cell heights

Right click the table and select Table Properties, then unselect the Table Height
The Select all cells and select Cell properties and do the same
