Trying to open a PowerPoint created on a pc with 2007

I have a presentation created on a Windows Vista machine with Office
2007. The file has a pptx extension. How can I open it with my Mac
PowerPoint v.X. Do I need to try PowerPoint 2004 on the mac?
I am sorry if this is answered somewhere else, but I can't seem to
find the answer.

Hi,

At the moment you will need to ask the person with Office 2007 to save it in
PowerPoint format instead of the new XML format. The converters for using
the new file format have not yet been released. A release date has not been
announced, but it is certainly a high priority item so I hope it doesn't
take too long.
