trying to open Word 2000 docs with Word 2003

I had created docs with Word 2000 a while back and saved them onto a disk. i
have since upgraded to Word 2003 and now when I try to open the docs, it says
read-only and there is no text on the pages. is there a way for me to convert
these files to be viewed with Word 2003?
Thanks a million!

By disk, do you mean CDR? When you write to a CDR, the files are
automatically given the Read Only attribute because normally you can only
read files from a CDR. You need to go to Windows Explorer, select all the
files, right-click to select Properties and clear the Read Only attribute.

If the documents still seem to be empty but the files are the correct size,
then make sure that you don't have the font colour set to White or set as
Hidden.
