Trying to re-install Office XP after Office 2000

My computer originally came with Office XP. I've been
taking a class in Word 2000 and had installed Office 2000
on my computer so that I didn't have to bug my husband for
his computer when I needed to work on my homework. Since
completing my course in Word 2000, I tried to re-install
Office XP however, when I try to use anything in Outlook I
get the following error message: Unable to display the
folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified
folder location. The .DLL file for the information
service could not be found. MAPI was unable to load the
information service PSTPRX.DLL. Be sure the service is
correctly installed and configured.

I'm not a computer techie and I have no idea what to do.
Could anyone please gift me the correct steps to take to
get my computer back to it's original state? I really
need help here!
