Trying to save a SELECT statement as the Record Source for a Form

In design view of the form, I bring up the Forms properties. I then click
on the Record Source field and it asks "Do you want to create a query based
on the table?" and I reply yes.
I create my query...I look at it in SQL view as well...it looks good, so I
click on the 'x' to close it. It then asks "Do you want to save the changes
made to the SQL statement and update the property?". I say YES.
And it never keeps it! How come it won't keep the "SELECT" statement as a
valid Record Source? Has anyone ran into this? This is in Access 2007.
I"m trying to convert an Access 97 DB and it used SELECT statements as
Record Source. Does Access 2007 work the same way?

Thanks, but I have added my path to the list of Trusted Locations.
I'm just not able to save a SQL statement as the RecordSOurce for my form.
I'm using Access 2007 SP1. I see that there is SP2 available. I think I'll
try that.

Maybe this, from Allen Browne's site on 2007 bugs:

"If the source for a form/report is a SQL statement, and you click the Build
button beside the RecordSource property, your changes are lost when you
return from the query designer (unless you move to another property before)"

In other words, after setting the record source, click on any other property
in the properties pane, then leave the properties box and save.

This is reportedly fixed by the SP2 service pack.

Thanks for the info. I did install SP2 and it is working now. Your findings
make sense because I was having a similar problem earlier and it wouild save
it every now and then. Must have been because I clicked on another property.
My head feels better already.
