Trying to Save as Gif

When I use Outlook in Word 2003, if I right click on Save Picture As,
it will not allow me to save as a Gif, only as a bitmp. That means
any animation is lost.

If I forward the email to my gmail account and save from there, it is
correctly saved as a Gif.

How, where, do I alter something that will allow me to save as a Gif
directly from Outlook without having to go round the circle?
