Trying to setup Exchange Account through Entourage

Running Entourage X ver 10.1.4 on Office X 10.1.5. I could at least get my
folder list and mail last week. I played with it so much trying to get the
GAL that I thought I messed it up royally so I deleted the exchange acct
and started over. Exchange services do not include DAV (which I heard is for
calendar only and LDAP, also they are running IMAP 4)
Now, if I use the set up assistant it can¹t locate the Domain Controller. I
can ping the exchange server 2000. I have POP active and running. I tried to
manually configure the Entourage exchange but can¹t connect.
Is it possible service pack 3 caused me a problem?
Please reply direct to me as well as the list. Any ideas or info is welcome.

It could be that you need to specify a different subdomain for the
Excahnge server. I've had the same problem here.
The address we should use actually redirects to a subserver but this
never actually worked for us. I managed to find out what subserver my
mail was stored in through Outlook 2001 and entering this address
instead of the address of the main server (redirector) allowed me to get
my mail.

I doubt it.
