trying to type a word doc. with a cover page

I'm trying to write a paper, and the first page I made was my cover page because that is the page that will come out of my printer first. After I have made my cover page I tried to start writing the first page of the paper and everything I type on the first page seems to go directly on the cover page, and they are 2 separate pages.

I have honestly tried everything and I don't know what else to do. This paper was due like a couple of days ago and my professor gave me an extension on it. I need to get it done NOW! MY deadline is approaching quickly, and I have to figure this out.

Is there anyone out there who knows how to correct this problem and can step by step walk me through it?

Thank you,
Shabersham

Sorry about your plight but we can't stop the clock & you haven't provided
the info necessary to give a clear indication of what the problem is.

What View are you working in? Print Layout, Publishing Layout...? Are you
simply typing what you refer to as a "cover page" or are you inserting one
of the Cover Pages from Document Elements?

It only stands to reason that the cover page should be first but if the
content doesn't fill the "page" you need to create a Page Break (Insert>
Break> Page Break (Cmd+return) or a Section Break (Next Page) in order to go
on to the 2nd page.

Also, a Word document flows from beginning to end regardless of the order in
which you intend to print it. When you actually Print you can reverse the
printing order of the document in the print settings.

If this information doesn't resolve your problem please try to provide a
more accurate description of what the problem actually is.
