Trying to unistall Office XP Media

I just loaded in Office 2007...and am now in the process of unistalling
Office XP. I uninstalled the main program first and am now trying to
unistall the Media Content. However, it is taking a REALLY long time. The
splash screen comes up and I get the hour glass indicating that something is
supposed to be working...but the green bar hasn't even begun to travel. It's
been over an hour and that seems like way too long. What should I do?

Does the Office XP media content interfere in any way with Office 2007? If not, why not just leave it. How much hard drive space is it taking and how much do you still have?

I am running Vista and the reason I had to get rid of Office XP originally is
because I was having some compatibility issues. When I open Office 2007 with
Media XP still installed I am getting an error message saying "Office
application version does not match." It will let me close that window and
work in Office 2007 but I think I need to get rid of XP completely.
