Turn off auto-capitalization?

I'm having a problem with Word (happens in Entourage, also) 2004 for Mac:

Every time I type a period in the middle of a sentence (like: "See you at 8
a.m. So then we can...) the word after the period and space capitalizes
automatically (see example). I have tried to fix this by going to the help
file and I'm at a loss.

Is there any way to turn this off?

PS Did you also want to know what it is?

PPS I'm sort of stuck back at the sentence where you said you looked in
the help. How could you not find this? Try searching on "capitalize
automatically" - I got that phrase from your own description of the
problem, and the answer is right there.

Yep. I knew it was something simple. But I guess I just didn't use the
correct phrase in the help search.
