Turn Off automatic capitalisation

I am unable to type in lower case in WORD, even thought he Caps Lock is
swtitched off. This problem does not occur in EXCEL or Powerpoint. WORD
appears to have disabled the CAPS LOCK on/off button on the keyboard. I have
reinstalled OFFICE 2003, searched numerous help sites, and tabbed through
every tick box of the OPTIONS dialogue boxes, and gone through all the
Autcorrect?autoformat options. Would appreciate any help, as this is causing
me huge distress! Thanks
