I have some simple text areas and tables with nothing more than
background fills, text, fonts. MailMerge generates that as an inline
image in the resulting email, where it gives the "source" using the
"cid:" syntax. My understanding is that basically means to look
further down in the email headers where the base64 hex-bytes of that
image are to be found.
I'd like to not do that but instead send plain HTML, which should
render just fine since these are not really photos or images in the
first place. Anybody know how to turn this off, or how to do
something different in the document itself so as to not trigger this
behavior? This is all basically because my management is hinky about
having emails from us containing image tags since people can have
images disabled, and/or are receiving it on cell-phones that don't
render images.
