turn off reviewing

I have several long word documents that have passed
through several reviewings (red, blue,etc). Now I'm
through with the reviews and want to turn this function
off. I discovered that I can "show FINAL" which seems to
turn it off, but when I reopen the document, all the
reviewing comments again appear. I just want a final!

Hi, StevenO. To CYA, you might want to save a copy of the document that
includes all of the reviewers' changes before you wipe them all out. On
the Reviewing toolbar, change to Final Showing Markup view. On the
Reviewing toolbar, there is a yellow button with a blue checkmark on it
(the Accept Change button), and a little black downward-pointing
triangle to the right of that button. Click on the triangle, then click
on "Accept All Changes in Document". If your document also contains
comments, click on the little black triangle to the right of the yellow
button with a red X in it (the Reject Change button), then click on
"Delete All Comments in Document". Hope this helps.
