Turn off Task Alerts by default.

Project Server 2007 automatically enables task alerts for users. Does anyone
know of a way to have alerts turned off by defult while still allowing users
to enable them if they choose?

I believe the only way to do this is for every user to set their own
subscriptions to e-mail Alerts and Reminders. I have never discovered any
automatic way to turn off all subscriptions to Alerts and then allow users
to enable only what they want. Hope this helps.

Dale--

Feedback is much appreciated. The problem is I need to track deliverables
for C-Level employees in my project plan but don't want them notified every
time we change a task. Could ask them all to go in and turn off alets but
doubt that would be well received.

I'm thinking there must be some sort of template that is populated in Site
Sever for the "Manage My Alerts and Reminders" page where an individual would
go to turn off notification. Would assume we could modify the template being
used to default to deselect the "Alert me immediatly when:" options that are
currently defaulted to on. Just not sure where to look for this template or
how to modify it.
