turn off the display of control characters in a word doc

R

Rick Potts

I made a template for a word doc for my sister-in-law. After using it for a
while she somehow turned on a facility that shows the print control
characters. Haven't been able to find where to turn it off. Any ideas?
This is in Office 2007.

Rick:

It sounds like you've toggled on the nonprinting characters. In Word 2000
this can be done by clicking the Show/Hide toolbar button (it has a pilcrow
or backwards P on it) or by clicking Tools > Options > View and clearing the
All check box.

I'm sorry, but I don't know where these controls and commands are in 2007,
but I'll bet they have the same names.

¶ is on the 'home' tab of Word 2007 - or CTRL+* works in any version.
